One of the most common pieces of advice I hear from more seasoned photogs that I follow is, "just go shoot!". You have to get out there and take pictures in order to be an actual photographer. I know right, "duh". One of my friends John recently purchased a new camera and wanted to go out and shoot so I had the wonderful idea of hitting up my other photo fam Rome and my always willing muse Kidd Ford for a little photo walk!.
We set Moonshiners Downtown as our meeting place because who doesn't need a little drink before an epic excursion?! So we had a carafe of Mimosas because 10$, and I had a brisket grilled cheese sandwich that made me praise the Lord. After indulging in that we took our talents to an area by Franks' Pizza that just so happened to be doing construction. That's where our magic began. We used each other as muses because Kidd couldn't be the ONLY one in front of the camera! We took portraits, street shots, impromptu fashion shots. If it was aesthetically pleasing, we captured it. We also had random people jump in our shots and we asked a few strangers to indulge a few melanin creatives to contribute to our street magic.
I definitely plan on doing another photo walk on a larger scale for the summer. The Abstract People Link Up is in the planning stages. Stay Tuned!
